Jessica Davis Portrait

Harmony, Consistency, Responsibility, Empathy, Restorative

My interest in marketing began as a waitress. While working various jobs, I was asked to help with social media and write copy for a variety of promotional materials. The tips weren’t bad, but I found I was good at all this other marketing ‘stuff.’ I was really privileged to work for establishments that were innovative while also putting customers first, much like Blue Door Consulting. I have also been an event assistant for about three years at the Paine Art Center and Gardens, where I fulfill my 12-year-old dream of being a wedding planner. The opportunity at the Paine has introduced me to so many bright people, and is the main reason I wound up at Blue Door Consulting.

I had the privilege of interning here first, for nine months, while I finished my marketing degree from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (go class of 2017!). For as long as I have been interested in marketing, I always envisioned myself at an advertising agency and imagined myself collaborating with creative people and working on amazing projects. It’s great that I now get to do that every day as a full-time member of the team. I learned sooooo much as an intern, improving on my social media marketing and content writing skills and developing technical skills like user testing, web design and analytics. But I also learned a lot about myself, that I can accomplish so much more than I used to think possible, and to be comfortable trying new things and asking lots of questions until I can tackle those things on my own.

Except for my immediate family, all my relatives live around West Virginia, where I was born. I moved to Wisconsin when I was 9 years old after my dad became an anesthesiologist at a local hospital. My parents, two younger brothers, two massive dogs and I all still live in Oshkosh, but I love visiting the rest of my family whenever I get the chance. I also love to cook, and you’ll find me petting any dog I can get my hands on.
